Day 149: Tour Eiffel!

Day 149: Tour Eiffel!

After 24 hours in Paris, we decided it was time to see the Eiffel Tower.

We got up early and headed out on the Metro.  It was still a bit dark when we left, and 30 minutes later, as we surface from the underground, the sun was warming up the skies.  The metro let us off just west of the Palais de Chaillot, and when we turned the corner around it, the sight really was an incredible.

The morning was still pretty cold and we bought some coffee nearby, mostly just to warm our hands, ha!  We wandered around the overlook for a bit and then headed towards the tower.  It really is huge, and we wondered how we would have felt if such a iron-clad structure was built in our city.

Always iconic, and still lives up to the hype, in my honest opinion.
