Day 71: Train to Soller.
While in Palma, we thought it might be a good idea to take a break from the beach thing and do some actual exploring.
Thanks to the Ferrocarril de Soller, we took a renovated 1920s train through the countryside and mountains of Mallorca. While rickety and fairly austere, the train was a charming way to ride through a pretty primitive landscape. You could almost imagine the Mallorca of old, full of adventurous Europeans coming around on a rustic holiday.
Soller was a wonderful place with a great square in the middle of town. We spent a good portion of our time just doing what all the Mallorcans were doing: eating bocadillos and people watching. The life.
