Day 68: Buenas Tardes!
When I was in middle school we had to do a project on a country of our choice. I chose Spain. Mostly because my big brother, the adventurer, had just returned from a trip with his Spanish class. He came back and taught me two phrases: "¡Buenas Tardes!" and "¿Qué tal?" (These were the center pieces of my presentation. Obviously very authentic.)
For this and other reasons, I've been fascinated with the idea of going to Spain ever since.
When we arrived to Barcelona this past Tuesday, we were almost a little overwhelmed. We quickly realized we'd left a small town and landed right in the middle of a bustling city. Our street is right off of Las Ramblas near Plaça de Catalunya, basically right in the heart of everything. Definitely the most urban either of us has ever lived.
I can already tell the architecture here is going to be my new favorite. The colors are so bright, the designs so repetitively stunning.
